Los Angeles, a.k.a. the “City Of Angels,” is the unofficial Capital of America.
It has one of the country’s most dense urban populations, which some believe leads to high levels of creativity and wealth generation. When it comes to figuring out what to do and see while in L.A., your only problem will be in trying to figure out how to see it all in such a short amount of time. How do you go about picking and choosing your adventure when you’re “swimming” in a sea of options? We can offer a few suggestions that might make for a memorable experience.
1) Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica Pier is a popular landmark that is over 100 years old, boasting an opulent iconic entrance. It’s everything you need to start your vacation on the right foot. This attraction is host to an aquarium, a beach, shopping, food, pubs, entertainment and an amusement park, which has the famous solar powered Ferris wheel. Best part is that they have a trapeze school!!! Top off your day, as you fulfill your long lost childhood dreams of swinging, tumbling, and flying, from ring to ring, swing to swing, high up in the air, like a circus clown.
2) Hollywood Sign
While in the City Of Angels, this is a must see, just to say you’ve been there. The perfect spot to grab the perfect selfie that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Type in the directions to the Hollywood Sign in Google Maps and it will lead you to a hand full of fantastic views for photos. Recently Google had to remove its ability to provide specific hiking directions to the actual sign. However, It’s still completely doable. For the bold and daring, it’s is about an hour to and hour and a half hike. What better way to grab a selfie of the Hollywood sign than by standing RIGHT behind the letters?
3) Hollywood Walk Of Fame
A long street hosting more than 2,600 golden stars embedded in the pavement consisting of famous people’s names (actors, musicians, directors, fictional character, etc). This is a fun spot to photograph your favorite famous person’s star.
4) Little Tokyo
Home to largest Japanese population in North America. If you want an interesting peek into Japanese culture, this is the spot to be. Unique architecture, food, shopping and tourist attractions. This is also where they claim the fortune cookie was invented.
5) Griffith Park
Once you’ve thoroughly experienced the Hollywood sign, you can then venture out into one of the largest urban parks in America. Within the various areas are concessions, golf courses, picnic grounds, pony and train rides, and tennis courts. Throughout the year, Griffith Park is used for cultural fairs and festivals.
