Looking to unwind after a hectic week of working in the District of Columbia? I can’t think of anything more relaxing and therapeutic than the recent Puff, Pass and Paint class I had the pleasure to experience.
Stacey and Heidi have played tag team in recent months as this class continues to come and now spread their painting good cheer across the country, including Denver and Las Vegas.
Come armed with no expectations of being required to have any artistic ability whatsoever, and enter a judgment-free painting zone where the instructors don’t mind if you go rogue and paint your own design.
After a few puffs, my muse summoned and with a LOT of purple paint (my favorite color), I dug into my interpretation of the featured skull design.
Don’t worry about being able to follow along since students are instructed through each stage of the featured picture. I was calmed by the therapeutic strokes of the brush, enhanced by the cloud of smoke in the air. Before I knew it, I had crafted a pretty cool skull with details born of my own imagination. I even forgot to use the offered stencil! And what else is better than taking home a souvenir from a night of fun?
I am also proud of how the cannabis community in the District is comprised of people of all backgrounds, including a stock analyst, teacher and attorney I encountered recently. A married couple used this class as their date night, and while many pair up to attend, singles are greeted as well. By the end of the night you feel like one big family as you share the process of creating your own personal masterpiece. It’s also pretty cool to compare how everyone else interpreted the painting, including a few artsy abstract versions.
Feel free to bring your own bud, wine and enjoy this grown-up painting activity and tell your friends!
