Falling the first full week of June this year, Hemp History Week is sure to encourage learning and awareness of all things hemp!
June 5th to the 11th will mark the national Hemp History Week, hosted by grassroots efforts across the United States. If you are in Colorado and looking for events to get involved with the week, look no further!
We found the top 10 best events to celebrate Hemp History Week in Colorado 2017.
1. Grateful Hearts Unite for Hemp
The IHRF (Industrial Hemp Research Foundation) will host an evening of hemp related fun for everyone, including all those in town for the Dead & Company concert. The event will happen June 9th from 2:30pm to 5pm at Café Aion in Boulder, Colorado. There will be plenty of tapas, live music, drinks, and giveaways. Learn about hemp and use this as an excellent networking platform. This event aims to bring awareness to hemp and the important research being done about it through the IHRF. Head over regardless if you are attending the concert, which happens to be located a short distance of just over a half mile away from the hemp get together!
2. The Business of Industrial Hemp Seminar
This affordable and educational seminar will take place at the PureHemp Technology Headquarters in Fort Lupton, Colorado on June 10th. The half day seminar runs from 1pm to 4:30pm and will cost $99 per person. Learn from trusted, experienced, hemp industry insiders about everything from hemp processing to agricultural processes and sales tactics. You will enjoy a tour through the PureHemp Technology facilities and have chances to ask questions throughout the day. See up close many of the machines used to process hemp and learn how you can be involved in the hemp industry from knowledgeable staff. Payment for the seminar is accepted in advanced or the day of as well, but don’t wait too long and miss out on this comprehensive tour!
3. COHIA Fort Collins Field Trip
Throughout the week, the COHIA (Colorado Hemp Industries Association) will host events in many towns and cities across Colorado. On June 10th, they will be hosting a celebration in Fort Collins. Bring the whole family for kid friendly crafts, hemp foods, and games galore. This is the perfect place to gather with other like-minded hemp enthusiasts, or learn more about the plant if you aren’t familiar. The Fort Collins festivities will take place from 1pm to 4pm and will include free admission.
4. Hemp History Week Gathering Alamosa
Find your way to Main Street in Alamosa, Colorado on June 9th for a full-fledged hemp celebration. There will be live music, hemp related film viewings, product samplings, and more. The celebration will be held from 10am to 5pm at Smokers Haven located at 623 Main Street in Alamosa. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about hemp while interacting with knowledgeable festival goers and taking part in planned workshops. Don’t forget to grab a tasty hemp smoothie sample!
5. COHIA Colorado Springs Field Trip
This COHIA sponsored event will take place June 8th starting at 10am. The Folium Biosciences facilities will be the backdrop for the event. This unique opportunity to tour the facilities including the main operations and extractions machinery will be sure to delight any hemp enthusiast. Learn how Folium Biosciences creates phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil products using their patented process. This event will include coffee and the tour, and is open without registration.
This acronym for “help educate misinformed people” will provide the basis for an educational event. On June 9th from 5pm to 7pm in Colorado Springs you are invited to participate in hemp education, product samplings, and film viewings all about the wonderful plant! The focus will be on the sustainability and uses for hemp as well as further education on misinformation that may be floating around about hemp. Join others for a fun filled night that you won’t soon forget!
7. Hemp History Week In Manitou Springs
Take in the beautiful surroundings of Manitou Springs while you educate yourself on everything hemp. Join the team for the biggest day of the week on Thursday June 10th from 11am to 5pm for a plethora of activities. Test out new hemp foods, find handmade hemp crafts, and learn how to tie some new knots using hemp fibers. On June 11th from noon to 5pm you can explore samplings of delicious hemp edibles, like Coconut Coffee hemp smoothies and hemp seed samples. Stick around all day and watch as KC creates custom hemp fiber works of art until 5pm. Gather at the Hemp Store on Ruxton Avenue for all of the festivities and more throughout the entire week. Don’t forget to checkout all of the awesome hemp merchandise on site as well.
8. Bee Heroics Hemp Buzz: Buds and Bees
Another great Boulder hemp event to attend, this combination of hemp and bee education is the perfect mixture of cultures. Learn about the sustainability of hemp and how bees can thrive as well through plants such as hemp. The educational evening will be hosted at Rayback Collective in Boulder from 5:30pm to 7pm on June 5th. Checkout the raffles, presentations, and learn about how we are effecting the world as a whole through non-sustainable practices. A great event to attend even if you aren’t a hardcore hempster!
9. Hempin on the Mountain
Enjoy tons of activities 8228 feet above sea level! This hemp collective event will take place June 5th in Nederland, Colorado throughout the town. Starting at 10am and continuing into the night you will be able to use hemp bi products to create paper, enjoy tasty hemp foods, and see many different ways that hemp can be used. Workshops will be set up throughout the town, including night life as well! Plan for an educational and action packed day in the beautiful Rocky Mountains while learning about and using hemp in ways you never imagined!
10. Hemp Cowboys Planting Party
Do you love gardening? Do you also love hemp? This is the perfect marriage of the two! On June 5th in Fairplay, Colorado volunteers will be invited to help plant and create a sustainable orchard of hemp. The day will also include on site camping and live music throughout the day. Gather with fellow hempsters to enjoy good food, films, and awesome people!
